A fatal double shooting at a Hokitika home claimed the life of Frank (86). The tragedy happened after the Easter weekend at his residential property on Fitzherbert Street in the middle of the day. A distressed man was found outside the property.
The second victim was his grandson, 23 year old Andrew Hutchison

SCHIST Frank Joseph. Tragically on April 6 2010 , aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of Joyce, loved father of Heather and Graeme (Christchurch), Mary and Charlie (Hokitika), Alan (Christchurch), Murray and Rose (Hokitika) and Helen and Graham (Greymouth), loving grandfather of Leslie, David, Lisa, Michelle, Jenny, Andrew (deceased), Chloe, Orry, Tarsha and Matthew, and a loved brother, uncle and friend. Frank will be sadly missed by all. If an able-bodied man dies, can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, until my relief comes. A Memorial Service for Frank and Andrew will be held at The Kingdom Hall, Kaniere Road, Hokitika, on Monday April 12, commencing at 1.00pm
