Lady Kuia Morrison (84) was the widow of Sir Howard Morrison, a prominent Maori entertainer who died in 2009. She was a renowned Rotorua matriarch and an avid runner and walker, completing 14 marathons, including celebrating her 72nd birthday by walking the New York Marathon. She was also a squash and golf enthusiast. In 2012 her story featured in a book Walking for Fitness, Pleasure and Health.
