Sir Howard Morrison (74), OBE, was a New Zealand entertainer of Māori (Te Arawa) and Irish ancestry. He was born in Rotorua and began performing singing as a member of the Howard Morrison Quartet. The quartet started making records in 1956 and continued until 1964 when the they disbanded. Sir Howard was one of New Zealand's leading television and concert performers.He was concerned one of the most commercially successful performers throughout his career and was knighted in 1990 for his services to entertainment.
