  • A Great One eyed Cantab

Dominic and I loved to talk rugby, especially the All Blacks. It was in 1998 when we first started watching rugby together. We watched all the tests live (including the night games) and when the AB's lost all five test that year, Dominic was convinced it was our fault, us getting up in the middle of the night was damaging the team's preparation and we should let the rugby union know we were to blame. The next year there were a couple of games we did not watch together and the AB's returned to winning, proving Dominic's theory beyond doubt. Also at that time whenever Canterbury were playing if he was out somewhere and could not make it a TV to see the game he would ring me or I would have to text him score updates.

We (Vivienne and I) have good memories of those times and will always remember the day Harrison fell of his bike and put a big deep 6 inch gash in the top of his foot. Harrison was sqwarking, I was trying to calm Harrison and hold him still, while Dominic calmly and professionally sewed the cut together.

Kindest Regards to all of Dominic's family.

  • Dom was a good friend of my brother's and best man at his wedding and he was good to me when I was a kid.I remember he was a real character and always cheerful. I thought, when I first heard about the earthquake and that people had died, that I wouldn't know anyone who was affected but I was wrong. I'm thinking of Dom's family at this time.

  • What a good man

I saw Dr Bell only on Friday 18/02011. He was a fantastic man who gave me help regarding my mental illness. He even gave me a bit of a hug and said it would be alright. What a GREAT man, i'll miss him as my dr. My well wishes to his very brave family.
