Andy (69) was a New Zealand rugby union player and All Black captain. A "giant" of a man (1.99m) he held the position of lock first playing for the All Backs in 1972, his last test appearance was against Argentina in 1985. He also played club rugby in the United Kingdom and Italy. Later in life he acted as an agent for celebrities such as super model Rachel Hunter and in 2010 was given the honorary position of Rugby World Cup Ambassador. In 2003 his battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia began, while he succeeded in remission for many years, the cancer returned and he died at home in Auckland 17 years later. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. RIP Andy.
