Martin (55) an experienced pilot died after his plane hit trees after releasing a glider it was towing. The tragedy unfolded on private property about 63 kilometres west of Christchurch when, after the glider cut away, his aircraft turned and hit trees. With over 20 years aviation experience to his credit, it is not clear what went wrong. He is survived by his wfe and children.
