Aroha (28), mother of three under five year olds, was flung out of an out of control car when it rolled over a bank and landed on a beach at Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne. She was the only passenger in the car. The dirver escaped with only minor injuries. Aroha's death was the first road fatality over the 2010 Queens Birthday weekend period.

ORMSBY, Aroha Mary. Tragically taken from us on Sunday June 6, 2010 at Tokomaru Bay; aged 28 years. Loving and devoted mum of Jackson, Trinity and Kasey. Dearly loved daughter of Robyn & Keha (Basil) Ormsby, (Petone). Loving sister of Nathan and friend of Kylie. Cherished granddaughter of the late Ngaire & Jack Young, (Petone) and Merehana & and the late Kea Ormsby, (Mangatangi). Aroha will be sadly missed by all her extended whanau. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Aroha in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 41 Brittania Street, Petone on Saturday June 12, 2010 at 9:30am followed by interment at Taita Lawn Cemetery.
