Nine people were killed in a skydiving plane crash in Fox Glacier. It is New Zealand's worst air crash in seventeen years. Four passengers were tourists from Ireland, England, Germany and Australia. The pilot and another four males who died were from Fox Glacier. The plane crashed at the end of the runway at Fox Glacier Airport.
