Profile Image

Harold (85) was a motor sport legend. A well-known champion and stalwart for saloon motor car racing, he was the First New Zealand Saloon Car Champion, racing a Humber 80 in 1960 winning against supposedly more superior vehicles of the day, including Jaguars and Zephyrs. He maintained a keen interest in racing after his retirement from driving and was so highly regarded by the Canterbury Car Club that they named the VIP lounge in his honour.
