Seventeen year old Renee became pinned under the quad bike she had been driving on a farm at Cape Foulwind. The accident happened when she had gone out to spread fertiliser but failed to return back after several hours. Devastatingly her best friend Harmony Wihongi (16) died only a few weeks earlierin a car crash. Both girls were students at Buller High School in Westport. She had been working on the Landcorp farm for six months.
