Ian (53) was founding member of iconic NZ 70's rock band Th' Dudes and was well known as a guitarist, songwriter and producer.1n 1975, along with Peter Urlich, Peter Coleman and Dave Dobbyn, he formed Th' Dudes, and they released their debut album Right First Time in 1978 which saw them win Single of the Year at the RIANZ Music Awards for 'Mine Tonight'. The band was also named Best Group of the year. Ian's career in production included working with iconic kiwi performers DD Smash, The Screaming Meemees, the Warratahs, When the Cat's Away, Greg Johnson and Dave Dobbyn. He also performed under the name Tex Pistol and had two number one hits in 1987, 'The Game of Love' and 'Nobody Else".
