Judge Fogarty (75) was known as a fair and just man, who was humble and courteous. He worked as a lawyer, barrister, mediator, arbitrator, and became a Judge of the High Court in 2003.
Contributing to the law profession for over forty years, he was also advisor to the Deaf Sports Federation of New Zealand and contributed to the 15th World Games for the Deaf, in Christchurch in 1989.
