Brian tragically died in the devastating Christchurch Earthquake. He was the managing director of the english language school, Kings Education, on the third level of the CTV building when the 6.4 quake hit the city. He is one of scores of people believed to have been in the building when it collapsed and caught fire.

  • Inspirational science teacher

    I have only just recently learned that Brian is still missing and presumed dead. Brian taught at Lincoln High School for a number of years and I had him as my science teacher. I have very vivid memories of him as one of the most engaging and inspirational science teachers I had. His one achilles heel was his liking for science fiction which enabled us to distract him into discussions about various science fiction movies at times! I have thought about him many times over the years and occasionally wondered what he was up to now and it saddens me to learn he has met this fate. Best wishes and condolences to all his family and friends.
