Paul tragically died in the devastating Christchurch Earthquake. He was a well known optometrist with his own practise in New Regent Street but had been part of a team of eight dismantling an organ at the Durham St Methodist Mission Church when the quake hit. He was killed alongside two other men from the South Island Organ Company

    • Such a sad loss

Paul was my optometrist since I arrived in NZ and I feel privileged to of know such a caring and kind individual, who made time for everyone. I also have extremely complex vision and know to of found a professional with such a wealth of experience and knowledge, I was and am extremely lucky to of known. I did in fact have an appointment later that week with him, that I had put of as a follow up from Dr Tarr and so writing this is hard, a gap I know will not be filled for me. Right now I find it hard to even think of seeing anyone else and so I can only imagine what it must be like for his family and all his friends, as know he will be so missed, such a tragic loss. May he rest in peace and my heart felt thoughts are with all that have known him.

    • A Sad time

Paul was my optometrist for many years. I sat in his patient chair and we often chatted about life, business and his aspirations for the future. He was always kind and gentle and seemed to have all the time in the world for me! (always running behind time because of it too!) It is a sad loss for his family and for all those of us who knew him in his many capacities. For one who knew and loved God, I know he is resting in His arms now.

    • To Steve Dunlop

I am so sorry for your loss.

My mother (a former client of your fathers) has spoken of what a kind and gentle man your father was.

This is a truly tragic time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
