Former All Black lock Frank (65) has been described as one of the rugged men of Manawatu and All Blacks rugby. He played 43 matches for the All Blacks including 17 tests from 1796-1981. He died suddenly at home in Palmerston North. Until his death, Frank was still running his sawmill business in the Manawatu.
