Sir Miles Warren (93) was a famous NZ architect, known for designing the Christchurch Town Hall, Dorset St Flats, College House plus many more. He and partner Maurice Mahoney, received the NZ Institute of Architects gold medal in 1959, 1964, 1969, 1973, 2000, for outstanding contribution and consistently high quality work. He was knighted in 1985. Sir Miles was a keen gardener, creating Ohinetahi in 1977 with Pauline and John Trengrove, which is still known as one of New Zealand's best formal gardens. In 2012 he created the Ohinetahi Charitable Trust and gifted this property to the people of NZ.
