  • We never met but I wanted to leave a message on your Memorial Page. My son is very close friends with Sam as the boys share a skateboarding obsession and attend the same high school. Sam is a truly extraordinary young man and I know that had things been different we may have been discussing our lads over a wine. I wish that had been the case. Sam is respectful and responsible and cheerful. He is an absolute pleasure to have around... he is clearly well loved now as I am certain he was when you were alive. Many of us are keeping an eye on him and are happy to be an ear should he need one. He has really good friends and we love him. Be proud. My deepest condolences to all who loved You.

  • 4 Years

It has been four years since the disastrous day. As we look back, we remember you and the 184 other victims of the earthquake that shook the city, country, and world. You were and still are deeply missed by your family, friends, and all others that you knew. Remember that everyone you know is doing well. Rest in peace Jane-Marie.

  • Remembered

I went to school years ago with Jane-Marie and remember how she was always so sophisticated compared to the rest of us, we spent one Friday evening getting our hair permed, we must have been about 15 - she of course looked beautiful - so very very sad to hear that she has gone. Love and thoughts to her family on this anniversary day.

  • Goodbye JM

Hi JM, this is James, Sam is still my best friend. I wanted to tell you that I'll never forget you. You'll never leave my thoughts. You were so awesome. I also wanted to tell you that Sam's getting along well and Jackson has a nice job in aussie. I still have that toy dog you gave me, sitting on my bed. Makinta says hi.

  • Goodbye

i never knew of the memory page or i would have written sooner. we were old school friends from Middleton and we emailed each other only a couple of months before Feb to meet for coffee. I will always regret that i took too long to get around to it. I still have our hallerious letters we wrote to each other in typing when we were bored. You were always so much fun although a lot more mature than us scatty ones. it seems like only a couple of years ago, instead of more than half a life time. You did come and see me at work when Jackson was younger and oh such a proud mother. You told me all about your man, and how happy you were.Jane_marie, im so sorry that you are no longer here. So much sadness.

  • I've only just found out now that JM was killed in FEB 2011. I never met JM but I've dealt with her over the past 5 years on car finances and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

  • Sorry to not say good-bye to you properly

It's been such a pleasure to know you for so many years. I didn't realize until today when I was putting together the magazine for Cashmere that I wouldn't be crossing paths with you anymore. You deserve a much better good-bye. I never meet your new man and wonderful family and my thoughts are with them for their great loss. All the best dear friend and may you pass knowing you made a lot of peoples lives a lot brighter and warmer for knowing you.

  • What an awesome MUM

I worked at TLC where Jane Marie had Jackson enrolled as a pre schooler only just discovered that she had been taken in the earthquake and am lost for words. My love goes out to her family especially Jackson as although I remember him as a little guy he will now have grown up heaps. At one stage JM used to pick me up on her way down cranford street in the mornings and we shared many "interesting" conversations. RIP

  • A beautiful person

Although I have never met Jane-Marie in person, she looked after all of our company car finances through Marac for the last 3-4 years. Every time I spoke with her on the phone we would talk as friends who have known each others for years talk. We spoke just a few days before the erathquake and I emailed her as soon as I heard about the earthquake but had no reply from her...now I know why. She was a beautiful person! I will always remember you! Our hearts goes out to her family.
