Bruce (58) sadly died after a battle with cancer but will be remembered fondly as a former All Black rugby player, having played as halfback in 10 tests from 1987-1989. He was also a member of the All Black team who won the 1987 World Cup. From 1982 -1985 he represented Canterbury during its Ranfurly Shield reign. His final test game was in 1989 when the AB's played Australia, winning 24-12. In the 90's he returned home to his farm in North Canterbury and raised a family. RIP Bruce.
