Leigh (55) was shot down at her workplace, Work and Income NZ, office in Ashburton, along with fellow colleague Peggy Noble (67). Leigh grew up in Alexandra and had moved from Christchurch to Ashburton following the 2011/12 earthquakes. The tragedy unfolded whe a client of WINZ entered the building with a shotgun.
