Profile Image

Michael (25) died unexpectedly, collapsing on a Wellington Street, but his decision to be an organ donor means seven strangers will have a new lease on life. He suffered an unexpected brain bleed which was not survivable. He had donated most of his organs, from his eyes to his heart, and while not listed as a donor on his driving licence his views on being a donor were well known to his family. His liver went to an Australian man in his 30s, a kidney to a young NZ boy and the other to a man in his 60s, hHs lungs went to a man in his 30s and heart went to a middle-aged man, and his eyes went to two others.
