Volunteer firefighter Arthur (77), celebrated 60 years as a volunteer with the New Zealand Fire Service earlier this year, which marked one of the longest stints to have ever been completed by a firefighter. In 2000 he was also made an honorary life member of the Vintage Car Club. He died suddenly after a blood clot developed while he was in Hospital.
