James Albert Evans

14 Dec 1940 - 14 Jun 2019

Profile Image

Jim (78) was a experienced pilot, aircraft engineer and local hero for his project that taught young Whitianga students how to build small aircraft. Tragically he died after his own aircraft crashed in Coromandel after bad weather had forced him to turn back from a scheduled flight to Auckland. He was the sole occupant. Jim lived in Whitianga and had been flying since 1960. He will be forever remembered as a kind and geneorus man who was quick to volunteer his time and has changed the lives of many with his good deeds. RIP Jim.
