    • A New Year..

Hey Mummy, I miss you so much. So much has changed since you've left us and not all the good i think? Im guessing you probably already know whats happening, watching down on us. Id like to think that one day, hopefully soon that everything turns out for the better. Your birthday was FUN! Hanging out with you all day, Lunch and and getting Sunburnt..hehe Dinner at Lonestar with the immediate family brought so much joy and comfort. Dads Birthday unfortunately wasnt much of a celebration...I had left auckland at the time to attend RaggaMuffin Concert down in Rotorua, and the kids i think were just to broke to go all out! But thats ok...atleast we got him something. Ill keep up with posts now and then. The net is playing up at the moment so i think its time to cut it short. I love you with all my heart. Nothing feels right anymore... Missing you more as each day passes... Love your "Bestest Daughter" (hehe) in the whole wide world!! Cini Xo

    • Karen - what I remember

Dear Karen, I cannot be at your funeral today, but I wanted to leave a message for your family and colleagues. It is with shock that I learned of your passing. You were such a familiar and central part of the libraries team, it is hard to believe you are gone. I remember our catch-ups at Rose's, and during coffee breaks in the staff room. What I remember most is your quiet, intelligent good humour, and your uncanny knack of delivering well-timed one liners that summed up the ironies of life (includig work-life)! I also remember that you were a loving parent, and incredibly proud of your children. You were a valued colleague and passionate about your work. I am sorry I didn't get to see you in recent months, the last time I saw you, you were looking fabulous and happy. I'll remember you this way. My deepest condolences to your family at this sad time. Love, Fleur.

    • Remembering Karen

It was with great sadness that I heard of Karen's sudden departure. I worked alongside Karen for almost 6 years while I worked in the Auckland Research Centre and was for a majority of that time her Assistant in the Family History department. We shared many memorable experiences together. We had some great laughs together and I remember most dearly the family history conferences we spent together and the inaugural lock-in night. She was an inspiration of ideas when it came to family history and promoting its values to the community. Her dedication was unsurpassed. My thoughts are with all those at Auckland City Libraries who will miss their dear colleague but also to her children who were incredibly special to her and the apple of her eye. With my deepest and profound sympathy
