Murray had worked as a political jounralist and business editor at the NZ Herald in the 1970s and 80s. Tragically he was found dead in a central Auckland park, there were no suspicious circumstances. He has been descibed by coleagues as incredibily gifted and tolerant of people, never judging anyone. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
