Elite boxing coach Kevin (74) trained hundreds of young men for their careers and had produced some of the best results of any boxing coach in over four decades of NZ boxing. His boxers include Jimmy Peau who won gold at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games and his own son, Kevin, who won silver at 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games. He had even developed training programmes for other elite sports people such as the Canterbury Crusader rugby team and for a number of NZ test cricketers. He was appointed an officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in 2010, and had received an MBE in 1995.
