R.I.P Mr Hopkirk
I've worked with Stephen on a couple of projects over the last 6 years. I'm very "non-IT" and Stephen always took the time to explain things so I could fully understand what was going on. He was exceptionally capable and you knew with Stephen onboard you'd get the job done. His kindess and sense of humour (sometimes dry, sometimes sly :) will be sadly missed. My condolences to his friends and family.

loss of a greatly respected collegue
My condolences to Stephens family.
I have worked closely with Hoppy for the last 10 years or so at IBM.
I was happy to call him a colleague, Mentor and friend.
His love of the outdoors and life in general was amazing. His dedication and intellect were second to none, a very skilled individual that embraced all that life had to offer.
His wit and humor around the office or at social events would always bring a smile.
Hoppy's passing is a tragic loss to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him.

Farewell Stephen
I knew Stephen from Victoria University. He was a really nice, friendly classmate who was always good to work and socialise with. While I have not had contact with Stephen in recent years, I will always remember the great times in Botany and several outdoor activities with mutual friends especially kayaking down the Wanganui River. We will all miss you Stephen and my heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family.

You will always be remembered
To all of Stephen's family and friends, my sincere condolences at this very sad time. This is such a tragedy, losing such a good and kind friend/colleague with such compassion for others and love of life, is so hard. A man of few words who would always lend a helping hand or have something positive to say. You will always be remembered my friend and we will miss you very much. Hoppy and Belinda - Peace be with you.
