Binge drinking at a party claimed the life of promising all-rounder James (16). He drunk a large quantity of Vodka in a short time at a friends 18th birthday in Auckland, dying hours later from alcoholic poisoning. A popular student at Kings College, he was a typical sports-mad 16-year-old and full of life. Witty, funny and neat have been the words used to describe his character but now he is a teen drinking statistic. The tragedy has again sparked heated public discussion on the drinking culture of teenagers in New Zealand.
