Craig (66) tragically died in a mid-air collision just 90m above ground. The accident happened as the other pilot was returning to Hood Aerodrome in Masterton just minutes after dropping off three skydivers. The pilot of the other plane also died at the scene. Craig was a passionate maths teacher at Rathkeale College for over 20 years and a long-time volunteer in cricket in the Wairarapa, even coaching Blackcaps star batsman Ross Taylor as a boy. Craig was a member of the Wairarapa Aero Club with three years experience and was flying a training plane solo at the time. He will be forever remembered for his great personality and significant contribution to his community. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. RIP Craig.
