Kelven (known as the blind busker) was only 57 when died suddenly of a suspected heart attack at home. He was one of Christchurch's well known entertainers, regularly performing at Cathedral Square. His sight had been significantly compromised since birth and he became fully blind at in his mid 40's. He also held strong views about overcoming adversity and lived a "big life" remaining independant despite the challenges. Kelven left a huge legacy with his positive attitude, sense of humour and powerful musical talent. RIP Kelven.
