Peter (74) was a well-known golfer and farmer who was involved in a fatal quad bike accident during a sheep muster at Mangatarata Station, Tokomaru Bay, when his bike went over a steep cliff. Known as Rousie, Peter's golfing commanded a great deal of respect from fellow players as he started the sport at onyy eight years of age and rose to 'legend' status at the Te Puia course where he won the East Coast Championship no less than 10 times. He lso won the "King of the Coast" Tolaga Bay Championship 11 times. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter.
