The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) road race event claimed the life of Paul (39) during a race. He had finished 22nd in his first Supersport race just days earlier but failed to survive an incident on the Ballagarey section of the 61km track. In 1999 he competed at the TT for the first time, and in 2000 he achieved his best finish in the 400cc lightweight race being placed sixth.
