Talkback radio giant, Geoff (79), had a skill for finding almost anything interesting and making it entertaining to his loyal listeners. A former school teacher at Ponsonby Primary School and Avondale College, Geoff's strong voice and great sense of humour set a benchmark for talkback for decades. His autobiography titled - You Might Be Ugly - But You're Nice! - sums up his tongue in cheek style. He was also well- known for his regular column, Watchman's Island, in the Sunday News in which he wrote about human tales of life in Auckland for over a decade. He grew up in a family of ten in Auckland and is survived by his wife, five children and two grandchildren.
